In fact, the Pacifica Hybrid is actually even more capable than its name suggests, because it is actually a plug-in hybrid, with a sizable 16 kWh battery pack located under the center of the vehicle that, when fully charged, can propel the minivan for about 30 miles on electrons alone before the gasoline engine switches on. Chrysler’s research shows that the majority of minivans are driven less then 30 miles a day, meaning that many Pacifica Hybrid owners could go for months without using a drop of gasoline. With a Level 2 wall charger, the battery can be fully charged in about two hours.
