I’m having a frustrating issue with my 2018 Pacifica Hybrid Limited, and I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this. On two separate occasions, I’ve opened the rear hatch using the handle, and the alarm (honking) went off. Here’s the thing: I know I had the van armed when I parked it, so the alarm wouldn’t have gone off otherwise.

I had the key fob in my pocket and my phone in hand, so nothing should’ve interfered with the key fob signal. But even if there was a signal issue, the hatch shouldn’t have opened in the first place since it should’ve been locked when the alarm system was engaged.

The first time it happened was before the over-the-air update I received last week, and the second time was just today, so clearly, the update didn’t resolve this glitch. I’m getting worried this might be a recurring issue.

Just last week, I was trying to manually open my car door by holding the button, and the alarm went off. The doors weren't locked, and I had the fob in my pocket, too. I was at my son's daycare, and all the kids were looking out the window at me like I was the main event.
