I’m thinking about making the switch from gas to a PHEV, and I’ve got a quick question about that rear 12V outlet.

Does it pull power from the hybrid battery or the main car battery? I want to keep my portable fridge running when the car’s off without zapping the main battery.

Any advice would be appreciated! TIA

The main battery handles the essentials like AC and traction control, while the 12V system takes care of everything else. It charges from the main battery but only kicks in when the car's running.

Just remember: cars don’t like voltage fluctuations; too low, and you might face some unexpected issues!
So keep that in mind!
